TPI Valve:

     "Thank you for providing us the opportunity to evaluate your TPI Valves.  We installed a set into a 2002 Yamaha SXViper.  Dyno testing was performed in an effort to quantify that the TPI Valves can alter the amount of intake area and resulting amount of airflow.
     As you know, most every snowmobile features an airbox on the intake.  The airbox is quite often restrictive in airflow characteristics, resulting reduced performance.  Many tuners will modify, remove, or alter the airbox in one fashion or another.  By installing a set of TPI Valves into an airbox, the airflow characteristics can be better matched to the carburetion settings.
     In the example of our testing of the 2002 SXViper, our machine produced 116.8 HP with stock jetting and TPI Valves closed (stock airbox characteristics).  After opening the TPI Valves and providing a greater amount of intake area, the SXViper produced 119 HP, reflecting the increase in airflow to better match the fuel flow settings of the carburetors.  We believe this simple test demonstrates typical results an average user would experience in real-world applications.
     Owners of snowmobiles and many other forms of recreational vehicles should benefit greatly from the ability to install these adjustable air valves.  They will allow riders to partially compensate for various conditions that cause a rich fuel/air ratio.  This will result, in improved fuel economy and reduced vehicle emissions as well as increased performance."  Kevin Beilke, Managing Editor, SnowTech Magazine
